For fans of the electronic vanguard underground (and we're not talking DJs and dance music here) Wired Ones is quite a compilation. Its assemblage include 16 new tracks by 14 artists and a pair of videos. Some of the artists here have been making serious waves for a couple of years now and may find themselves on the gallery, museum and university circuit soon: Kevin Blechdom, Heidi Mortenson, Dynasty Handbag, Scream Club, Rhythm King & Her Friends, Angie Reed and others. The music here is nocturnal, truly original, and in many cases very funny, in a Brechtian way, and truly creative as only mutant pop knows how to be.
